Ministry Activities

This summer in Santa Fe I will be very busy supporting several ministries of others. I am a "fill in" worship leader and will be at Calvary Chapel Las Vegas, New Mexico several Sundays. Also, there is a ministry in town holding four big events at "The Railyard" which is one of the main places for activity in Santa Fe. I'm supporting it by providing our YWAM sound system. We're praying for many to hear about the love of God at those events.

We are going forward with the development of a Christian arts center in Santa Fe too. There are several new faces who are joining our team. Some are young people who will really give us some good ideas and life. We should have our corporations papers and application for a non-profit status soon. We would appreciate prayers for unity for our team and financial support as we develop this project.

Through the years YWAM Santa Fe has offered music training. This summer Karen will be leading a six week music intensive called The Santa Fe Summer Music Workshop from May 31st through July 11th. Those interested in finding out more should click on Musicians For Missions at the top of this page which will take you to the Musicians for Missions home page. There click on Schools and Opportunities which will go to the info on the music workshop. Don't hesitate to contact Karen through this website for any questions.

First Christian Praise Recording in the Toa Language from the Jemez Pueblo

On September 28, 2013 Karen is helping facilitate a recording of six women that make up the Wahamini Singers from the Jemez Pueblo in New Mexico. This is the first time there has ever been a Christian worship recording released in the Toa language. Most of the songs were composed by the women in the traditional Jemez style of unison singing accompanied by a single hand drum. Marianne Millar, YWAM's professional artist, will be designing a cover for the project. The women and other Jemez Pueblo Christians hope to be able to share their worship songs with many of their friends and family on the pueblo.

Worship album featuring "Seek Ye First"

Karen's most recent studio album Singing My Heart Out is available at the store on this site. It features my "signature song" Seek Ye First and two other worship songs pinned by Karen. The rest are songs of musician friends from India, Latvia and some former MFM staff who are now living back in the US. Karen comments on the CD "It was a blessing recording all these songs of fellow missionaries. I pray you all enjoy them too."

Drop by Karen's MySpace page to listen to some of the new songs: (you don't have to have a MySpace account to listen)

Song's from 'Singing My Heart Out' - Charting in Europe

Karen has been associated with Paul Davis in England since he helped book her tours there in the 80s. Paul now heads up the organization New Christian Music. This organization has many facets, all of which help to encourage Christian musicians and promote their music. Once a month NCM mails a promo CD with 20 songs on it to about 400 radio stations around the world.Karen has had four songs from her new worship CD Singing My Heart Out over the past two years. The list includes Singing My Heart Out, Seek Ye First, God's in This Place and How Wonderful Your Name. The stations that receive these promo CDs can send a comment sheet back to NCM letting them know which songs they are going to give air play to and how they rate them. From these feedback forms, NCM then determines which artist should receive a 'Radio Mic Award'. Karen has been given a Radio Mic Award for three years in a row for 'American Female Worship Artist'. All of the songs have rated high on the NCM charts. Karen was able to attend the NCM Awards Weekend at Leighton Buzzard, England to receive her award in March 2009.

A Blast From the Past: Karen in 1978

A friend from the Jesus Movement days sent me this link to a very old video of me at a Maranatha concert. Wow... I was really that young once.
